    Wind issues

Is there really not a thread to talk about wind issues yet?

Swaths of downtown Norton were without power today, and there was a HUGE tree down on 5th street. Care to offer damage reports from anywhere else in the county?

My gf said there was a tree down going up towards where she lives on Caney Ridge, had to go the other way through Clintwood. Last week it took the top off the patio outside of the cafe at MECC, completely go and the poles were flying everywhere, messed some cars up.

    Re: Wind issues

I've been filing wind damage claims all day. Will probably be doing the same tomorrow. And I'll be doing the same after the next rain when folks realize they have building damage they didn't see.

Had the same issue last Wednesday too.

Kept losing power last night repeatedly until it finally when out for a few hours.
It drove the dogs batty everytime the power came on/went off.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

To Gotcha. I put a new roof on last year and it was fine. I was always taught to put four nails in each shingle. One of the early lessons in life that I continue.

Yep I live up in this area of Norton and power was out from 11 am yesterday and just came back on this morning. The tree is still down on 5th Street and the power lines are hanging low enough for any human to go over and touch. I guess they temporarily hooked it back up until they can replace them on the poles. I believe it took down 2-3 power poles when that huge pine tree fell.

It was crazy how in my back yard everybody on that street had power but my block and another block were all pitch dark.
